François Viguié

François has been an active member of Playing For Change since 2005. He first met Mark Johnson in Barcelona while he was working on PFC's version of Stand By Me, and introduced him to musicians like Clarence Bekker, Tal Ben Ari (Tula) and Pierre Minetti. He has since traveled with the crew to South Africa, Mali, Colombia, Los Angeles, and New York.
François currently lives in Barcelona where he works as a percussionist, journalist and translator. He studied history of arts and cinema at the Autonoma University of Barcelona, graduating with a Masters in Documentary film directing. As a musician François has been invited to join the Playing For Change Band several times in New York, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Paris, London and Madrid.
François is proud to work with PFCF since February of 2010, coordinating the creation and development of our newest school in Mali.
