Seema Tikare
Secretary
Seema Tikare grew up as a nomad, having lived in Pondicherry, Goa, and Bangalore, India, then Lake City, Florida and Augusta, Georgia and finally, Rheine, Germany before the age of 18. All this movement instilled a lifelong curiosity and wanderlust in her.
The driving forces in Seema's life have been the desire to see the world and to do something meaningful. While doing doctoral studies at MIT, she was lucky enough to stumble into the field of international development as a career - a perfect joining of her two passions. She has worked in this area for over 12 years, at both the local project level and at the national policy level with such organizations as the World Bank, the UNDP, World Learning and Mercy Corps. And she has had the great good fortune to travel to and work in such places as Mongolia, Albania, Uganda, Malawi, Mali, Macedonia, Kosovo, Indonesia, India, Nepal and South Africa.
Joining PFCF's board is a wonderful new opportunity to use her experience and learning to have a positive impact on the Playing For Change Foundation's participants and students.
