Emergency Relief in Ukraine

PFC Ukraine was established last year in the cities of Ternopil and Vinnytsia to use music as a social, educational, and therapeutic tool for youth amidst the ongoing conflict. The psychological toll on Ukrainian youth has been extreme as they have not had normal social or educational environments since before the COVID pandemic. Humanitarian Innovation Group (HIG) is our local partner and one of the country’s leading non-profits at providing humanitarian support to Ukrainians since the war broke out in 2022.

The situation in Ternopil has worsened dramatically. Far from the front lines, Ternopil sits in western Ukraine only a little more than 100 miles from EU borders, and in the last few months has been heavily hit with attacks that have caused casualties and mass power outages. Our students, their families, and the wider community have braved a brutal winter without heat and under threat of attack.

We now seek support to provide vital resources like generators and fuel to warm households amidst below freezing temperatures, blankets, basic medical supplies, flashlights during blackouts, Starlink internet to keep this community connected with the world, and critical psychosocial support for youth, including orphans.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to provide winter resilience support to 15,000 people, primarily children and displaced families, in community centers and schools in western Ukraine.

So far, together with HIG, we’ve raised $49,000 in the last two weeks. Now we need your help to fully mobilize.

Winter in these regions means frequent blackouts, limited heating, disrupted education, and rising emotional stress. Our response combines warmth, safety, education, and psychosocial support.

What your support delivers:

$2,200 – Power generator and diesel fuel to provide electricity and heat for a community space serving up to 1,000 people

$860 – Starlink internet access (equipment + 6 months service), providing stable connectivity for up to 100 children during blackouts, supporting education, communication, and workshops

$600 – Logistical support for our field team to deliver hands-on workshops, conduct a thermal audit of a classroom, and carry out basic repairs and insulation improvements

$35 – Winter resilience kit for one child, including a power bank and visibility items for safety during blackouts

$135 – One full day of childcare support combined with art-therapy and psychosocial workshops, including all necessary materials

$685 – Battery-powered amplifier for guitars and microphones, allowing music education and daily practice to continue even without electricity

Every contribution directly supports warmth, connection, learning, and emotional resilience.
