WHAT KIND OF ORGANIZATION IS THE PLAYING FOR CHANGE FOUNDATION ?

The Playing For Change Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2007 to use music education to create positive change for children and communities in need around the world.

HOW DO YOU FINANCE YOUR MUSIC SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS ?

The Playing For Change Foundation relies entirely on the contributions and donations of its supporters to keep its mission alive. In 2022 funds raised through special events represented about 48.6% of our annual income, 24.4% from individual donations while 23.5% came from grants and 3.5% from corporations.

HOW IS THE MONEY SPENT ?

In 2022, 67% of our income went directly to program expenses, 8,2% was spent on administrative costs, and 24.8% went toward fundraising and marketing.

WHAT’S THE IMPACT ?

3,500 children from 19 different countries have access to music and arts education through our schools and programs. Beyond the positive impact of music on the lives of these children, we provide jobs to musicians and administrators in different communities around the world.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED ?

The PFC Foundation operates in 19 different countries around the world, and is comprised of over 200 teachers, administrators, staff members and collaborators. Our main office is located in Santa Monica, California, a few blocks away from where Roger Ridley started the song Stand By Me, whose success was the starting point for our movement.
