WHAT KIND OF ORGANIZATION IS THE PLAYING FOR CHANGE FOUNDATION ?
The Playing For Change Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2007 to use music education to create positive change for children and communities in need around the world.
HOW DO YOU FINANCE YOUR MUSIC SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS ?
The Playing For Change Foundation relies entirely on the contributions and donations of its supporters to keep its mission alive. In 2024 funds raised through special events represented about 42.7% of our annual income, 7.4% from individual donations while 24.1% came from grants and 25.7% from corporations.

HOW IS THE MONEY SPENT ?
In 2024, 65.2% of our income went directly to program expenses, 6.9% was spent on administrative costs, and 27.9% went toward fundraising and marketing.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLAYINGFORCHANGE.COM AND PLAYINGFORCHANGE.ORG ?
Although we are part of the same global movement, Playing For Change and Playing For Change Foundation operate as two legally separate entities. Playing For Change (playingforchange.com) is a production company that focuses on producing music videos, manages the PFC Band and offers a streaming service. Playing For Change Foundation (this website: playingforchange.org) is a separated international non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of music & arts programs around the world.
WHAT’S THE IMPACT ?
7,000+ children from 26 different countries and territories have access to music and arts education through our schools and programs. Beyond the positive impact of music on the lives of these children, we provide jobs to musicians and administrators in different communities across 36 programs. Our impact also extends way beyond music as we support projects and initiatives around the world in different fields such as agrofarming, human rights or environment to just name a few.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED ?
The PFC Foundation operates in 26 different countries and territories around the world, and is comprised of over 300 teachers, administrators, and staff members. Our main office is located in Santa Monica, California, a few blocks away from where Roger Ridley started the song Stand By Me, whose success was the starting point for our movement.
