PFC Celebrates The Grateful Dead’s 50th Anniversary

On July 5th, in honor of The Grateful Dead’s 50th Anniversary and final show, Playing For Change is releasing a brand new Song Around The World covering The Grateful Dead’s 1970 classic, “Ripple.” Featuring an eclectic cadre of legendary artists, and new and veteran Playing For Change musicians, “Ripple” will be released as the final video – of 50 Grateful Dead tribute videos – on JamBase’s “Songs Of Their Own” series.

This is “a gift from the fans”, says Grateful Dead drummer, Bill Kreutzmann. And “the ‘ripple effect’ is that the next generation gets to learn to play music all over the world,” says Playing For Change co-founder, Mark Johnson.

Playing For Change Foundation is launching the #RippleEffect Campaign in July 2015 to coincide with the release of “Ripple”, inviting people all over the world to take part in the campaign that aims to create a “ripple effect” of positive actions to raise awareness for PFCF’s music education programs for children, and make the world a better place with each act that is taken.
