Vieux is the son of Ali Farka Touré (Mali), a musician considered by many to be the inventor of the Desert blues style and one of the greatest African guitarists of all time. Vieux is frequently referred to as the “Hendrix of the Sahara”, and a hero to many youth and musicians and youth from M’hamid El Ghizlane, where Joudour Sahara and Zamane take place.
Zamane has quickly become one of the most acclaimed events in Morocco, receiving international recognition from outlets like National Geographic, The Guardian, Radio France International, and many other media channels.
