Gerti Melara is an exoperienced educator dedicated to music and creative movement, holding both a bachelor’s and master’s degree obtained in 1997. Born and raised in Austria, she has lived in Costa Rica since 2001, where she has developed a holistic educational approach focused on the integral growth of the human being. With over 13 years of experience as a violin teacher, including her work at the Conservatorio de Castella, her musical journey began in early childhood, starting violin at the age of nine.
Her pedagogical approach promotes psychosocial, physical, mental, and spiritual development, integrating values such as sensitivity, self-discipline, and joy for life. Inspired by artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Mercedes Sosa, Gertrud firmly believes in the power of art as a tool for social transformation, especially in addressing challenges such as drug use and sex tourism. Through her work, she seeks to fill emotional and social gaps by creating meaningful experiences that help individuals connect with themselves and their surroundings.
