We were first introduced to Surendra Shrestha and his band, Sur Sudha, nearly ten years ago while filming the documentary, Playing For Change: Peace Through Music. In the years since he has become an advocate for the PFC Foundation, performing at PFCF benefit concerts and visiting programs to perform with students and inspire them to keep practicing and learning.
In Peace Through Music, Surendra says “…we believe that through music, if you practice a lot, if you mediate on it, you feel nothing else than peace.” When PFCF returned to Nepal to build new homes for families in rural villages after the earthquake, Surendra was there.
“You bring [a] smile through music. And this smile is very positive. There cannot be any negativity.”
