A talking drum lesson with Ghanian percussionist and director of the Bizung School of Music and Dance, Mohammed Alidu. The “luan” is a talking drum used in the Northern region of Ghana, similar but usually bigger and lower than other West African talking drums. Alidu’s ancestors have been playing these drums for many generations and the Bizung School of Music and Dance, located in Tamale, Ghana, is helping to preserve and transmit this culture to the youth.
