Joudour Sahara Music Program

Chaimae Redouani is an 18 year old student at the Joudour Sahara Music Program in M’hamid el Ghizlane. Her family belongs to the Arib tribe of the Sahara desert, and Chaimae practices the traditional dance, or ragsa, that accompanies the ancestral Chamra music tradition of the Arib tribe. Chaimae was one of the first students enrolled at the Joudour Sahara program, and has been instrumental in establishing the Joudour Sahara space as a safe and welcoming space for female participation. She aspires to learn the djembe and become one of the best djembe musicians in M’hamid.
