PFCF has joined forces to support The Sound Space on Wheels in Mumbai, India, a project that brings music education to children in several communities through a mobile and fully-equipped music classroom on wheels.

Founded in 2010 by sisters Kamakshi and Vishala Khurana, The Sound Space (TSS) reflects their lifelong dedication to music and education, reimagining traditional Indian music and sharing its transformative power.

The Sound Space offers children and adults alike the opportunity to explore music as a tool for learning, connection, and self-expression. The Khurana sisters collaborate with schools, NGOs, and multinational corporations to bring music and sound-based learning into diverse environments through a wide range of innovative programs.

ABOUT MUMBAI

Mumbai, often called the city of dreams, is India’s financial and cultural capital and home to more than 20 million people. It attracts people from across the country with its opportunities in business, the arts, and education. Known for its thriving film and music industries, diverse communities, and fast pace, Mumbai blends historic charm with modern growth. While the city faces the challenges of rapid urban development, its energy, creativity, and resilience continue to make it one of the most dynamic places in India.

  “
The idea for the Sound Space on Wheels came from wanting to reach every child and every human being in the city. As they were unable to come to us, we decided to find a way to come to them.
