Steve Blatter is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Music Programming for SiriusXM, where he oversees all music programming across both SiriusXM and Pandora.
In this role, he also leads the company’s relationships with many of the world’s most iconic artists and brands, including The Beatles, Eminem, Pearl Jam, U2, LL COOL J, Pitbull, Carrie Underwood, the Grateful Dead, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Billy Joel, Steven Van Zandt, Diplo, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews, and Kelly Clarkson, as well as the estates of Tom Petty, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley.
Under his leadership, more than 30 unsigned artists were first championed by SiriusXM before being signed to major labels, demonstrating his commitment to discovering and elevating new talent.
Before joining SiriusXM, Blatter founded JumpSpan LLC, where he co-invented one of the earliest music recommendation engines and intelligent playlist creation systems (developed in 2001). This groundbreaking technology was later licensed to Yahoo and contributed to the development of the Yahoo Music Jukebox. Earlier in his career, Blatter served as Head of Programming for MJI Broadcasting, where he executive-produced live radio coverage of the Grammy Awards, CMA Awards, MTV Awards, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. As Head of Programming for Big City Radio, he oversaw content for major-market radio properties in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. He began his career as Music Director at WYNY in New York City, the most-listened-to country music station in radio history. Blatter currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Board of Trustees of the TJ Martell Foundation.
