Jimmy Hutcheson is the CEO of SPIN Magazine and Next Management Partners, a media and tech investment firm in LA. In 2020, he led the acquisition of SPIN from Billboard, aiming to revive its 80s and 90s legacy in today’s digital landscape. He brought back SPIN’s founder, Bob Guccione Jr., to restore the magazine’s sharp, fearless music journalism. Under his leadership, SPIN has returned to prominence, featuring artists like Marcus King, Kim Gordon, and Jack Harlow, and launched projects like SPIN Labs and the SPIN Lipps Service podcast.
In 2024, SPIN returned to print with a Lainey Wilson cover after a decade of digital editions. Hutcheson also spearheaded SPIN IMPACT, an initiative uniting music and social causes, including mental health and addiction, with events like a charity art show with Machine Gun Kelly. Hutcheson’s past ventures include founding Hutch Media/RumorFix, which grew into one of the largest digital video networks before being acquired by Zealot Networks in 2015.
