Abe Burns is a venture capitalist with deep experience at the intersection of entertainment and
technology. He is currently a Partner in venture capital, after serving as a Partner at Sound
Ventures, the firm founded by Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary. Earlier, he was President of
Digital at Maverick Management, where he worked with global music icons and helped drive
digital innovation.
Before that, Abe was a Venture Partner at A‑Grade Investments, backing breakout startups
such as Uber, Airbnb, and Spotify. His career reflects a strong focus on digital media,
early‑stage technology, and helping creative industries embrace new platforms.
As an angel investor, Abe has made about a dozen investments across consumer, media, and
technology startups. His recent portfolio includes Smashing, Ask Alex, Kangaroo, and
Boomerang, underscoring his commitment to supporting founders building innovative and
scalable products.
