Co-Founder

Kali Devi Karki was born in Kakurthakur, Sindhuli, and co-founded the Mother’s Society. She was the first in Tintale village to work as a social worker. Devi joined the Mother’s Society because she noticed a lot of discrimination between boys and girls and that girls were being dominated by society. Her goal is to help eradicate discrimination, raise the voice of girls and women, and spread the message of gender equality. She feels the need to educate strong women so that they can accomplish their goals.

Devi has seen a lot of improvement in her village over the last years and thinks they successfully encouraged people to change their minds and views. She has also witnessed a significant change regarding gender equality and girls’ education in her community. “Girls have to be educated”, she says.
