Ecole de Musique de Kirina

Modibo Traoré was born on May 12, 1993, in Bamako, Mali. He first attended a Franco-Arab primary school in Bamako. After finishing secondary school at the Soumaoro Kanté training school, where he studied electromechanics, he pursued his passion for the arts. He joined the drama department at the National Institute of Arts in Bamako.

His love for music led him to enroll in the Conservatory Balla Fasséké Kouyaté, the higher institute of arts in Bamako, where he studied music for three years. During this time, Modibo learned to play the drum set and various other percussion instruments.

Modibo has performed with many notable musicians, including Djeli Mady Sissoko, Mamadou Kelly, Afel Bocoum, the late Haïra Arby, Sata Kouyaté, and Madibo Koné/Van Guitar. In drama, he has worked with artists such as Assitan Tangara, Moussa Fofana, Kary Coulibaly, and the Malian National Drama Band.

In 2023, Modibo joined the PFCF program, thanks to Djeli Mady Sissoko, a kora teacher at the National Institute of Arts in Bamako. Modibo is currently the drum set teacher at the Ecole de Musique de Kirina in Mali.
