With one of the biggest lineups in recent years showcasing a diverse range of international superstars and bluesfest veterans – there was indeed a unifying spirit in the air. The Byron Bay Bluesfest is Australia’s premiere Blues & Roots Music Festival with more than 200 performances of the best blues, roots, folk, soul and world artists. In addition to seven all weather performance stages, there are licensed bars, undercover food courts, food and market stalls. The Bluesfest has consistently grown in popularity over the years and now over 100,000 tickets are sold annually to the 5-day event.

The PFC Band was invited to perform for the third year at this distinguished event. It was my pleasure to travel with the group and document their performances as well as interview enthusiastic fans. My duties also included supporting our righteous team at the PFCF booth, answering questions for supporters and in general, spreading the word that we are here to bring music education to children around the world. We at PFCF offer a very special thanks to Maurie & Vivien Stang’s family and friends for creating such a spectacular booth promoting our mission. Changing hearts one song at a time.

Onward and upward,

William Aura | Director of PFCF Asian Music Programs
