Zoraida Bonilla Martínez grew up in Barra del Colorado Pococí, where she attended school, and has lived in Cahuita in recent years. A passionate calypsonian, she is a tumbera and backup singer for the calypso group Ashanty. Zoraida began playing the conga with local musicians and later enhanced her skills through courses with NAMASOL. She believes music is a powerful tool for developing concentration, memory, and self-expression, and cites Walter Ferguson and Mighty Sparrow as major influences.
