Aashna Chachan

Dance Teacher

Alaya Music Program

Aashna Chachan is a Nepali dancer and instructor devoted to movement, expression, and cultural storytelling. Dance has been a part of her life since childhood, long before she recognized it as an art form. She was always drawn to movement, dancing at family gatherings, cultural programs, and choreographing wedding sangeets within her own family. What began as joy and play gradually evolved into professional choreography and performance.

Alongside performing, Aashna shared her love for dance freely by teaching Bollywood dance within her community, simply for the happiness it brought her and others. However, she felt a deeper calling toward classical tradition, which led her to begin her journey in Kathak in 2023. Under her Guru’s guidance, she discovered dance as more than movement, experiencing it as a language of rhythm, storytelling, discipline, and inner stillness. This training continues to shape her artistic foundation.

As her journey deepened, teaching emerged naturally. She is grateful to guide young students at Alaya Art School at the Chitra Art Space, where sharing dance has become as meaningful as performing it. What started as a childhood passion has grown into her profession and way of life. Aashna continues her path with humility and gratitude, allowing dance to evolve within her as a lifelong journey of expression, learning, and connection.
