Udayapur Music Program
Kritika is eleven years old and one of two children; their father is the village priest and their mother is the leader of the Mother’s Society, a group of local women who educate people in neighboring communities about the rights of women and girls with a focus on social justice. She loves to play harmonium, to sing and to dance and is greatly influenced by her music and dance teacher at the Udayapur Music Program. Kritika performed for the first time at the Nepal Music Festival as part of PFC Day 2013. She was nervous but very excited to sing in front of so many people. Kritika’s goal is to continue learning music and she feels music has greatly benefited her life.
