Mohammed Abdallah

Drumming Teacher

Bizung School of Music & Dance – Ghana

“I am Mohammed Abdallah. I was born on March 12th, 1992, in Tamale, Ghana as the son of Mohammed Alidu and Mohammed Mariam. I have three brothers and two sisters. I started school in 1998 at Methodist Experimental Primary School, Tamale. I went to Junior High School at Tamale Presby in 2004. I studied Agricultural Science in the Zabzugu Senior High between 2009-2013 in the Northern, Zabzugu.

Drumming is my hobby and the culture of my great grandfathers, who were appointed as the Chief Drummer of Dapkema, the chief of Tamale. I started drumming during my childhood with my fathers and brothers as my culture requires. I have a passion for drumming and its something I love doing during childhood. All my brothers and I were taught by our own fathers in the house and on other occasions like wedding ceremonies and funeral rituals. I mastered drumming at the age of 14 and even sometimes taught it to my younger brothers. I won many gifts on different occasions like the Damba Festival and other major festivals, especially when I impress the crowd with my drumming styles. I as a person would like to gain more knowledge in the field of Drumming and Arts.”
