Naruthai Chaiyim (Eye)

Thai classical music teacher
Paintbrush Arts Program

Eye was born and raised in Bangkok, where she continues to live and work today. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University, with a focus on Thai traditional music. Throughout her academic journey and beyond, she has accumulated valuable experience both in teaching and performing in Thai traditional ensembles.

For the past six months, Eye has been teaching khim (a traditional Thai hammered dulcimer) at the Paintbrush Foundation. She finds great joy in sharing her knowledge and skills with underprivileged children in the Khlong Toei community, believing deeply in the power of music to uplift and connect.

To her, music is an ever-present part of our lives—an emotional guide that accompanies us in everything we do. It helps young people connect with their feelings and with others, often making them feel less alone. Whether listening to their favorite artist or playing music with peers, children gain empathy, a sense of unity, and emotional confidence. Eye hopes to inspire more young people to discover the beauty of music. While music may not change everyone’s life, she believes it always touches the heart.
