African Programs Coordinator

Rebecca has a background in gender and development. She has worked in both the private and public sectors and continues to work at the intersections of gender equality and economic development internationally. Born in Uganda and raised across the United States, Japan, and Egypt, Rebecca is particularly interested in issues that draw on the lived experiences, insights, and work of refugees as well as marginalized women and youth. She received her Masters degree from New York University and has a post graduate degree in Peace Building, Conflict Transformation and Development from Makerere University. She has helped build capacity of youth and community non-profits in Morocco and subsequently contributed her skills and background to organizing livelihood programs for rural women in Kerala, India.
