Watcharapong Thawongklang (Van)

Administrative Assistant
Paintbrush Arts Program

Originally from Nakhon Phanom Province, Van now lives in the Khlong Toei community in Bangkok. He is currently a high school senior majoring in Chinese language. Van’s journey in music began in third grade with Thai traditional music before he gradually developed a passion for Western instruments as well. He performed in school events at the Community School of Muban Pattana and later honed his skills through opportunities provided by the Paintbrush Foundation, including participating in larger public performances.

Van first joined the Paintbrush Foundation as a student and, in March 2024, was invited to become part of the administrative team. For over a year now, he has contributed behind the scenes to support the foundation’s mission of empowering youth through the arts.

He believes that music plays a powerful role in youth development. In an age where substance abuse and digital addiction are prevalent, music can offer a healthy and inspiring alternative. With countless genres and styles to explore, music provides a positive outlet and a sense of purpose. Van also sees modern artists as role models who help shape young people’s dreams and give them hope for a creative future.
